Chikmagalur district also know as "Chikkamagaluru" is a tourists paradise in Karnataka. It is home to few of the top hill stations in india. Chikmagalur attracts lot of tourist around the state due to it's pleasant climate, hill stations, western ghats tropical rainforests and tea and coffee estates. Chikmagalur is a district headquarters which is located on the foothills of the Mullayanagiri hill station.

Baba Budan Giri Hill Ranges of western ghats are the major attractions in Chikmagalur, which includes Mullayanagiri, stands 1930 meters tall and is the tallest peak in Karnataka. Kemmangundi, Kudremukh, Baba Budan Giri also known as Datta Peeta and Devirammana Betta are the other notable must visit peaks in Chikmagalur.

Hebbe Falls, Kallathigiri Falls near Kemmangundi and Manikyadhara Falls near Budan Giri are the famous waterfalls to visit in the district. District also has 2 wildlife sanctuaries Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and Kudremukh National Park which are tropical wet evergreen type of forest in the Western Ghats.

Chikmagalur also has lot of prime pilgrim places which are visited by large number of tourists, major ones being the Sringeri on the banks of Tunga, Horanadu, Kalasa, Guru Dattatreya Bababudanswamy Darga also know as Datta Peeta Situated on the Baba Budan Giri and Deviramma Betta Temple.
