Ramappa Temple Overview
Ramappa Temple is lcated in Palmapet in Mulugu district(Previously was in Warangal), of Telangana, India. The temple, known for its beautiful intricate carvings, is the only temple in the country which has been named after its sculptor, Ramappa, who took 40 years to build the temple and this Kakatiya era structure, has been nominated for the UNESCO World Heritage site selection process for 2019. The temple is a Shivalaya, where Lord Ramalingeswara is worshipped. It stands majestically on a 6 ft high star-shaped platform. The hall in front of the sanctum has numerous carved pillars that have been positioned to create an effect that combines light and space wonderfully. Ramappa Temple is located at approx 208km from Hyderabad, 511km from Visakhapatnam, 420km from Nagpur, Maharashtra.
