Kotagiri or Kothagiri is a most popular hill station located near Ooty in Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu, India. It is the third largest hill station in the Nilgiri hills. It is located at a distance 29 km from Ooty , 18 km from Coonoor. The name Kotagiri means ‘mountains of the Kotas’ Surrounded by tea estates and beautiful green landscapes, Kotagiri offers plenty of opportunities for trekking and rock climbing, which makes it one of the must visit place in Tamil Nadu, India.
