Hawa Mahal or Palace Of The Winds is a beautiful five-storey palace located in the heart of Jaipur city of Rajasthan, India. Hawa Mahal is one of the prominent tourist attractions in Jaipur city and it was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Made with the red and pink sandstone, the palace sits on the edge of the City Palace, Jaipur, and extends to the Zenana, or women's chambers. The mahal has a total of 953 small casements each with small lattice worked pink window, balconies and arched roofs with hanging cornices. This allows cool breeze blow through the mahal and keep it cool and airy in summer. Jaipur is located at approx 398 km from Udaipur, 236km from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, 255km from New Delhi.
