The Linganamakki Dam is one of the major dam in Karnataka, which is constructed across Sharavati river near World famous Jog Falls. Linganamakki Dam is located near Kargal village of Sagara taluk in Shimoga district of Karnataka, India. It receives water mainly from Sharavati river rainfall catchment areas and also from the Chakra and Savahaklu reservoirs, which are linked through Linganamakki through a canal. The dam's height is 1819 feet above sea level and forms a beautiful backwaters, dotted with myriad islands is also called as Honnemaradu Backwaters.
