Harangi Reservoir Overview

Harangi Reservoir is located near Kushalnagar in Kodagu district of Karnataka, India. The dam has been built across the tributary of River Cauvery and has a height of 47 meters and length of 846 meters. The Harangi river originates in the Pushpagiri hills of the Western Ghats. Being the only reservoir in the region of Coorg, It is one of the popular picnic spot in the region with mesmerising natural setting. The best time to visit the dam is during the months of August to September. During this time, the reservoir is completely filled with water creating for a picture perfect setting. Harangi Reservoir is located at approx 11km from Kushalnagar, 33km from Madikeri, 99km from Mysore, 230km from Bengaluru, 132km from Chikmagalur.
