Gajanur Dam is a famous picnic spot. It is in a small village- Gajanur located at 12 kilometers from Shimoga, popularly known as ‘The gateway of Malnad’. The Tunga River flows through the village and dam is built across the river. It is the home for many beautiful birds. Best time to visit Gajanur dam is post monsoon and mid-winter. Visitors are allowed all year round.
