Barkana Falls is a beautiful waterfall is located near in Agumbe in Shimoga District od Karnataka. Water falls from the height of 850 ft. and is among the ten highest waterfalls in India. It is one among the ‘must visit place’ in the district for people who visit Agumbe. Barkana Falls is formed by Seetha River. The best time to visit this fall is late August or winter. Travelers can see wonderful perspectives of the Western Ghats and slope slants from the Barkana View Point situated near to the falls.
The place is completely deserted, falls is hidden inside a thick evergreen Someshwara Forest and you won't find people to ask around. One has to park your bikes at somepoint and then walk from there to Barkana Falls viewpoint.
