Spiti Valley is a cold desert mountain valley located in Himachal Pradesh in India . Spiti Valley, also known as the middle land, has become a popular alternative to Leh Ladakh as it offers the raw adventure and nature. The name "Spiti" means "The Middle Land", i.e. the land between Tibet and India. Spiti is bordered by Ladakh in the north, Tibet to the east, Kinnaur to the south east, and the Kullu Valley to the south. It shares the same religion as Tibet -- Tibetan Buddhism. Spiti is an adventure lover’s paradise, with a number of trekking trails that tourists can choose from. All of these treks start from Kaza. Spiti valley is accessible throughout year via Kinnaur from Shimla route on a difficult 412km long road.
